Horticulture Show (Caddo County Fairgrounds, Anadarko, OK, from June 13, 2008 11:00 AM to June 13, 2008 02:00 PM) — by david.nowlin@okstate.edu

The Baldwin Building will be open at 9:00 a.m. Exhibits must be entered by 11:50 a.m. All HCE members are eligible to make one entry in every class. Flowers, vegetables and fruit must be grown by the exhibitor. All exhibits must be displayed as stated or they will be disqualified. Three stickers will be awarded in each class. Rosettes will be given for the individuals placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in overall points. The Top Group will receive the traveling trophy. Lunch will be from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Everyone should bring a salad for lunch (serving spoons will be provided). All groups will serve as hostesses on a rotating basis. The Program will be presented at 1:00 p.m. Judging will begin at 12:30 p.m. Must leave exhibits in place while the scores are being tabulated. This will allow everyone an opportunity to view them. You may volunteer to help set up for the event. All help will be appreciated!

Rail Fence Quilt Workshop June 18-19, 2008 9:00 am — 3:00 pm Baldwin Building, Caddo County Fairgrounds Provided by Caddo County OHCE Groups We will be using a time saving method. You may want to cut your fabric into strips before you come. Make the cuts from selvage to selvage. Don’t cut through more than 4 layers and your cuts will be more accurate. You will have time to cut the fabric at the workshop if you want to wait. You will want to wait for the instructions before sewing. There will be a $10 fee and two lunches will be provided. Bring your supplies and plan to enjoy the fun and fellowship. Rail Fence Block Size: 12" finished. There are so many variations on placing the 4 units inside the block. The following examples are very traditional. You may want to cut some pieces of fabric and play with the order and the arrangement.
